This weekend Kia and I head to St. Paul, MN to compete in our first AKC agility trial put on by NEAM (Norwegian Elkhound Assn of MN). It's an all-breed trial and will certainly be MUCH larger than last weekend's small UKC trial. We don't expect to be very competitive but we need to get out there and continue our work at becoming a team. That will go on for years and years and this is just one more step in the process. Plus we will get to see several of our good friends! We won't run another AKC trial until Nationals in May. And hopefully by then we'll be a little farther along in our training and more confident in our abilities.
We also hope to run two more UKC trials, one in April and one in June. Most of summer will be spent training. Agility is not something you want to push on the dog and it's best to take your time.
